Fake Rear Speaker? What is this?

Does this mean that the passenger side is a fake speaker? Any one do any work on their sound system to figure out why the L/R difference?

I thought that was the subwoofer for non-B&O stereos??

I have B&O and it has about the same speaker layout as OP's picture shows. I think there is a small speaker on the passenger side. Here is a link:

It appears the speaker in the OP photo is a tweeter. A tweeter isn't very large. The subwoofer is in the center of the parcel shelf. The woofers and mid-ranges are in the doors. The front tweeters are on the front dash corners, and the center channel in middle of dash.

I'm not a Car Audio genius, but that is too small for a sub, even a small computer sub is bigger.

Anyone know where the amp is?

Who's OP?
;)

OK. I took a couple of photos of my trunk area. My subwoofer is much larger than your subwoofer. I assume you don't have the upgraded B&O system.

The tweeters are not visible from trunk and must be of micro size since the parcel shelf is not that thick. B&O must have some technology to make that sound.

I haven't found where the amp is yet.

Oh, ok, yeah I don't not have B&O, but it's not the size of the sub woofer... never mind.

Thanks for the pic. Very helpful.

I'm pretty impressed that that much bass comes from a sub that size. Interesting.

Yeah, I finally figured it out, I'm kinda slow.

It is 100% the subwoofer.

And it's the ONLY difference between the Sedan and Cabriolet... 14 speakers in the Sedan, 13 in the Cabrio.

Unfortunately, it's also (in my opinion) the most important speaker for a truly dynamic sound system.

It was the very first thing I fixed in my car.

Follow the Fiber Optic cabling from the MMI (in a B&O system, a pair of thick black plastic coated cables) and it'll lead you to the amp.
