I have a Rosstech cable and VagCom and I cannot unlock VIM - I assume VCP is not an option for the RossTech interface cable (?)

No, it is not an option. VCP in another diferent cable (and software tool) than Rosstech VCDS (vagcom)

I don't know about A3 folks, but it worked for me with VCDS, VAGCOM. I'd check this thread to be sure it's not possible before looking elsewhere.

In your case you have an S6. For A6/S6/A7/Q7 and some versions of Q3/Q5 it is possible to unlock VIM with vagcom. For example in this page: https://trick77.com/tools/mmi3g_vimcode.php

Very interested in using Android Auto app on my smartphone now that is can be used without an Android Auto headunit. Could you tell us about how the mirroring works to the Chromecast. When we plug in the usb cable between the Chromecast and the smartphone, are we mirroring via the usb cable, or are mirroring via miracast? Is the purpose of the multiple headed usb cable just for power to all the components? Do you have to turn on mirroring on the smartphone. Thanks for your help.
