Default I've always wondered what this is on the front grill of the A3/S3
My salesperson didn't even know. Does anyone know the purpose of this part located in the lower center? Is it sensor related?

It's for Presense (Forward Collision Warning with Automatic Emergency Braking).

Yes, it is standard across the entire A3 Family (except the RS 3).

its ACC. Active Cruise Control

it is not standard on 2015-2016 a3/s3's (unless they changed it for 2017?)

It's Pre Sense as I explained above (standard MY2017+). ACC is added with Prestige.

Well my car doesn't have Active Cruise Control. I think that comes with the Prestige Package? I definitely have Pre Sense basic and Pre Sense front.

That is not Pre Sense it is an ACC sensor module

Clearly thats the receiver hitch location! Since Haldex AWD is front wheel biased they installed the towing hitch at the front of the car for better traction. Now this does of course mean that when towing you will need to drive backwards. A minor inconvenience if you ask me.

There you go Timmay, you have your answer!!!...That is a great reply ...Plus you can watch your spoiler move up and down as it approaches 140 mph in reverse
