Default MMI Navigation upgrade

I have a 2015 A3 with the normal Audi mmi with no nav or audi connect, if I were to buy this (https://www.ebay.com/i/173313206363?...33c32fffe673a3) is this all I need for it, or do i need to do/get more

Im pretty sure that you'll need to replace the whole mmi, but instead i decided to get a Apple CarPlay device that is a plug and play thing that doesn't require much work or $$$, if you're interested then I can get you a link to the 2 that I'm looking at

I was curious if I bought an activated Nav MMI and swapped them and then purchased the sd card with maps if it would work. Audi is telling me that if the part wasn't installed at the factory then it would never work. That doesn't make any sense to me at all, how does one get theirs replaced if they have warranty issues? Will the apple play work with an android phone?

From my understanding from another forum that I posted. Even if you purchase 2nd hand there's Component Protection on the device and only Audi can remove it. You can swap out parts all day but some features may lock out or doesn't work properly.
I have 2016 A3 8V and been trying to figure a way around it. Sadly only in Europe all of their vehicles come with GPS Ready. Just need to activate it.

Here are links for MMI Upgrade with Sat Nav/GPS
Retrofit kit MMI Navigation plus with MMI touch Audi A3 8V | VAG-TEC E-shop

This one already have Component Protection remove
