Need some tire help - 235 or 245 width?
So I'm getting ready to make the plunge to purchase some new rims/tires but I've been a little torn on the tire size.
Existing rims are the 225/45/18s.
Many with 20inch rims run 235/35/20 however it looks like 245/35/20 would work too, giving me a more upright/square sided tire wall. Just looking for a good balance of tire contact and road stability. I don't drive that hard either so these will not be performance tires - either W, Y or Z rated. Looking at either 9 inch +32 or +38 offset too, leaning more toward the +32 to push the tires out as much as possible.
The two links show the difference in sidewall angle
235/35/20
245/35/20
I'm not lowered like crazy, but will lower probably a half inch additional, and would like to avoid any rubbing, even when the car is loaded up.
Thanks in advance for any advice.

8" I would personally go the 235, and on a 9" 245.
Are you getting rid of your spacers if you're moving onto the +32 offset? I'm not sure how low you'd have to go until you have your fenders rolled, but with the 245s it might be a possibility.

Think I'm going to go with 235/30/20 with the 9 inch - seems like the safe bet that others are running. With the 245, some have had rubbing issues when lowered moderately. I plan on just lowering a tad more, want at least half finger gap, but depends if the car looks like a monster truck with the much larger wheels.
