Default NEW 2017 S3 - Homelink?...duh....me didn't ask the question

Took delivery (in a hurry) of my wife's new S3. Simple question...but does my 2017 S3 with every conceivable option available ...NOT have a garage door opener!???! What is the logic to that?

It's a port installed accessory.

FWIW I have Homelink but for some reason am having a hard time getting it to work
I've programmed Homelink on previous cars and had no trouble.

It looks like it will be standard on the 2018 S3 prestige trim. Other than that, yes for '17 it is a port accessory.

The distribution center, or a port of receival installs the accessories on the car; not the factory.

The homelink module doesn't tie into any of the car's systems, correct? Isn't it essentially just a garage door module that snaps into a space occupied by a factory blank? If so, what is the cost of the module?

I cannot get the one in my A3 to link to either of my garage openers It seems like they're very finicky...? I'm usually awesome with anything electronic, but this thing... ugh.

Rolling code opener, you need to get on a ladder and press button on opener to pair up.

Me too! I tried several diff ways found here and online...no luck. Would be nice to not have controllers on my visor though
