Default New Member - S3 Tire/Wheel Question

Hi guys, new member here.

Picked up a '17 S3 last week, love the car. I'm 'downgrading' from a BMW M4 - the lease assumption is currently in process. I am preparing for retirement fairly soon and wanted something less costly and somewhat more practical without sacrificing too much performance and the S3 quickly came to the top of the list.

Such a fun car to drive and honestly, for public streets in the US, there is not much need for more overall performance. One of the frustrations I have with the M4 is that but the time you are pushing the car at all you are well into illegal speeds. At a time in my life it was fun have a car with so much bandwidth, as was the case with my prior 911 Carerra S (991 iteration), but I'm getting over that now. S3 strikes such a nice balance and is just plain easy and fun to drive!

Anyway, on to my question(s). My car has the stock 19" wheels. Are any of you guys running spacers, and if so, what are the spec's? Would like to get the wheels nominally out of the arches a bit.

Also the stock 235 P - Zeros seem really stretched on the wheels. Are any of you running wider tires? Particularly interested in comments related to Pilot Super Sports.

Thanks.

Greetings blschaefer1. Congrats on your new S3. I fell in love with the S3 immediately as well. Just did so many things well and did them looking good at the same time.

I have the 19 inch summer wheel/tire package and I'm running wheel spacers on my S3. Purchased from ECS Tuning. 10mm spacers up front and 17mm at the rear. Pushes the wheels out perfectly. I do not use them in the winter when I bolt on my 18 inch winter wheels and tires. I have Continentals on my S3 however. Came mounted on the car. Guess they are going the Pirelli route now. I have an RS3 on order currently and understand Pilot Super Sports will come as standard equipment. No experience with them currently.

some people go with a 245 width tire, and no problems. from the pictures ive seen id go with a 12mm & 17mm h&r spacer.

Thanks. Saw the ECS kit online - will go ahead and place an order.
