Default RS3 Sunroof rattle

I have a 2018 RS3. About 2 weeks after I bought the car it started to get a clear and super annoying sunroof rattle in the tilt position. Any uneven surface would cause it. Dealership on test drive found the rattle and confirmed it, but had to talk to Audi Canada head office to start the process to fix it. After 2 weeks, Audi Canada found "all RS3's" they tested had this sunroof rattle. Dealership called me back and said Audi Canada has stated there is "no fix" and give the car back to the customer.. So pissed.

Try opening the sunroof and cleaning the rubber seals and tracks, then armor all the rubber

No rattle on mine yet. I have ~350 miles on my '18, and the build was completed on October 4th, 2017 (built week 4017). I'll report back if the rattle ever decides to show up, but I'll more than likely fix the problem myself if it's just a loose adjustment screw.

haven't tried myself yet, but will do it this weekend. hope this is a legit fix, because with the cold weather, the rattle is even more pronounced. crazy that audi knows the issue and just tells their customers to **** off.

My dealer removed the glass and applied felt to something. Didn't fix it.

This has popped up on several forums and seems to affect quite a few of us.

I had the rattle in the popped/open position. Had it in, they did the "felt" thing and I took it back 10 minutes after picking it up.

They replaced the entire chassis for the sunroof, said when they removed the glass and drove around it was silent - led them to think it was warped/defective. Haven't heard a thing since and keeping my fingers crossed its fixed.

I think it's the 2018 body style, my 2018 S3 has started the beginning of a squeak/rattle, particularly when open.

I had exactly the same problem on my new S3 - two days after I picked it up.

Audi UK replaced the sunroof frame and it fixed the issue. I would suggest that is the cause of the issue based on us having the same problem. It should be fixed under warranty.

My 2017 S# was replaced because of these roof rattles, and I upgraded to the 2018 RS3, but I have the same god damned rattles in this one as well!
This is driving me crazy!

I am thinking about lubing the rubber on the roof wherever it comes in contact with rubber on the body. Any materials I should avoid?
