S3 APR Plus ECU +TCU First Impressions
So It has been about 2 weeks since I took my S3 to do the tune. Just wanted to share my experience with the forum.
The Visit
The process only took about 1 1/2 hrs.
Laptop connected to OBD port and software downloaded by technician. Fisrt he did ECU and then TCU.
First thing I noticed is that the in the dashboard instead of D or S now it shows the driving mode + the selected gear. I.e S1, S2.etc. Pretty cool
The Drive.
I did not immediately noticed the additional power in the acceleration but during normal driving conditions the extra torque allows you to overtake/pass any other vehicles without effort.
Haven't clocked anything but it feels fairly faster. Before the tune I would drive using the paddle shifters to obtain more response/power. Now automatic sport mode with the TCU would do the job with no issues.
I am amazed by the increase in gas mileage. Highway MPG with no significant elevation changes gave me 23 mpg and I was driving 85-90 mph, with some pulls of +100
Today I was cruising as a normal person at 60- 65 mph on a flat freeway and it was displaying 32 mpg
The excitement
No tickets yet but it is hard to drive this thing under the speed limit.
I am not talking about reckless driving here but you can definitely notice the increase of likelihood of other drivers wanting to race you because you are moving quite faster, You will definitely see more drivers wanting to chase you or accelerate ahead of you while you effortless cruise.
I did a couple of irresponsible pulls on the open road to 140 mph and this thing will keep pulling. Definitely this is no toy for teens/early 20's folks. You have to be responsible and drive safe here.

Worth 100%
Love my S3 even more.

wow. the MPG increases of 9 really surprises me O_O because I get 23 mpg just going to work, 70% highway 30% no traffic streets. Please update if that holds!
for everything else, that sounds awesome! Can't wait to tune mine in 2021 when my warranty's up
