I used safelite as well and requested OEM glass. There is an aftermarket option that is less expensive. I had a chip in another vehicle's glass and safelite did a good job repairing. It was only visible in direct sunlight from certain angles.

Used Safelite recently and was very pleased with their service. Would not hesitate to use them again. Mine started with a chip and within a week started to crack.

If it starts spydering from the chip, repair is not an option, just replacement. Replacement cost tends to be less than most deductibles. My car policy no longer covers repairs. I think part of that is relationship between deductibles that most people carry and replacement cost. They know there are not going to be a lot of claims.
