time to consider extended warranty

Wow, that's fantastic! Geico started raping me years ago so I dropped them for another company. Even with this pricing factored in, I'd be over paying them by a lot. I'll definitely check with my current insurance company though. Great alternative though.

I decided to go with Geico mechanical breakdown insurance (MBI) instead of getting Audi extended warranty. It covers just about everything including electrical, but not wear items, for a $250 deductible per issue. I have a 2015 S3 with 47k miles on it.
I was at the dealer last month for my 45k and the service manager said I only had 5K miles left on my warranty, would I be interested in picking up some Audi coverage. I said I had Geico MBI and he was like "Oh, ok, we deal with them all the time, they'll give us a credit card the same day, not like some of these other companies".
I know some don't like Geico because I don't think they use OEM parts if they can get away with it, but I've had them for almost 15 yrs with no issues (WRX, Evo MR and now S3).

Does this plan only apply to NEW cars? I am able to add the MBI plan on my new 18' Sienna but not my current S3.
What is Mechanical Breakdown Insurance?
Mechanical Breakdown Insurance is similar to a dealer's warranty but it is usually much more affordable than a car dealership's extended warranty and in some instances covers much more.
A $250 deductible applies to each covered loss except when the vehicle is still covered under the manufacturer's basic factory warranty, in which case a $100 deductible applies. It can only be added when the vehicle is a new vehicle, is fewer than 15 months old, the odometer reads fewer than 15,000 miles, and you are the first titleholder of the vehicle. Once purchased, MBI can be renewed for up to 7 years or 100,000 miles (whichever comes first).

I've always just had it on every policy I get with them when I get a new car, wasn't aware of the enrollment requirements of 15/15, but I guess it makes sense. I'm unaware of any other insurance company that offers this type of "extended" warranty and when compared to the rates from Audi and other manufacturers, it makes sense to get it if you're eligible.

I contacted Troy Dietrich from fd-warranty in regarding extended warranty for my 15' S3 in which my warranty will be expiring in March of 2019 and to be eligible for Audi branded extended warranty you have to at least have 1 year + 10k miles left in your original 4 yr/50k mile factory warranty. Looks like I'm out of that bubble and the only choice to go with is with Audi's 3rd party company, Fidelity.
Does anyone have any experience with Fidelity? After reading reviews on google/forums I'm not really considering signing up with them.
If anyone is curious here's the pricing I received from fd-warranty:
Fidelity Platinum w/ $100 deductible
7 yr / 100K - $4631.00
7 yr / 70K - $2779.00
6 yr / 100K - $3937.00
6 yr / 85K - $3305.00
6 yr / 72K - $2553.00
5 yr / 60K - $2206.00
4 yr / 48K - $1950.00
3 yr / 36K - $1538.00
And with the $250 deductible:
7 yr / 100K - $3365.00
7 yr / 70K - $2371.00
6 yr / 100K - $2860.00
6 yr / 85K - $2478.00
6 yr / 72K - $2259.00
5 yr / 60K - $1961.00
4 yr / 48K - $1790.00
3 yr / 36K - $1434.00

Yep. I just opted in for the family van. It's well worth it in my eyes.

I was quoted for 4580 first 5 yrs 100,000 miles with $100 deductible,
covers what the platinum covers plus road side assistance and towing.
Got the Omega Exclusionary plan.
its Auto Repair Protection Omega Auto Care.
they have me 30 days to decide if I want to continue with them or they'll refund back my deposit.
Fidelity and Audi Pure Protection seems like a good deal.
