Default Tire Pressure - 19"

What tire pressure are you guys with the 19" wheels running?

My car was delivered from the dealer with 34psi all around, and I see that the recommendations on the door jam are for 44psi all around. 34 seems pretty normal, and I was surprised to see that the door jam said 44. 44psi is just so much higher than I've seen on any other car, I'm curious to see what others think.

Thoughts/Opinions?

34 is low. You could damage a wheel if you hit a pothole.

The owners manual says 39 psi front and 36 psi rear for normal load (driver).

Owners manual says 41 psi is for a fully loaded vehicle and that is the number on the tire inflation sticker.

I damaged a wheel and tire on a pothole the first few days after I got my car because of low air pressure. Had to replace both. I now run 44 lbs all around. Once you get used to the slightly harder ride, it's not at all uncomfortable.

I'll take this opportunity for a PSA: Check your tire pressure after delivery, my tire pressures were at 50 psi when I got the car, and not thinking about it, I drove around, in summer, for a week before I checked.

I have mine at 38F/ 37R - we don't have a lot of potholes here

If I was tracking on a warm-hot day, I'd go 42-41.

Obviously, for us tire geeks, winter is a totally different thing, especially with summer tires.

my 19" were delivered at 42/42 - after going 39/39 it made a significant improvement to the ride. haven't tried matching the owners manual at 39/36 yet.
