I have a 2015 A3 sedan and the trunk no longer opens from any source (key fob, button on trunk exterior, or trunk release on driver's door). For a while it was intermittent, sometimes it would open, sometimes it wouldn't. When I hit the trunk release it doesn't make a sound at all. I thought that simply replacing the trunk latch would do the trick. Oh how foolish I am. Any ideas? Worst case scenario I just take it to the dealer (no longer under warranty), but I am pretty handy and thought this would be an easy fix.

I have the same problem for a couple of months, this video on YouTube shows how to replace a weak underperforming truck solenoid motor in the Audi A4, I will do this and pick up a new used part online
