Why so few?

Way too early!
The first batch of them that I looked at a month ago were all loaner fleet level ones. Premium, a couple Premium Plus with nav, that's about it. Here in NorCal the dealer inventory is all bought out for the next 3 months or so.
The only Prestige order I know of is "held at port" indefinitely currently, for unknown reasons. So I think they're still working on supply issues for whatever port-installed parts or flashing they're doing.

Hi Brent:
Most of the beginning allocation went into the dealer loan fleets. Don't worry, the A3 is actually selling well. I'm taking delivery, Today of a new A3 S-Line here in San Diego.

I'm happy to hear that. It's a great car. After about 1,000 miles it becomes more peppy and responsive. I'm impressed with it.

I hope you're right about it selling well. A friend of mine is a finance manager at a So. Cal Audi dealer and he said that A3 sales have been a bust. Plenty of A3 stock as noticed on dealer inventory sites. I was impressed with the A3 after spending some time in and around it during an A3 launch party. Have yet to see one on the road almost a month and a half later. I've seen plenty of the A3's competitor; the hideous looking CLA.

The primary one is the deletion of the gear shift lever to provide more space in the console.
Good to know that they are indeed selling. I just have not seen one on the road here in SoCal (Thousand Oaks) area. Anyway, I am waiting for the Q3 as a smaller sibling for my Q5.

I've seen three on the road here in DC/northern VA over the last few weeks. Two were 1.8s and the other was a 2.0. I really liked how it looks online and at the DC auto show, but it looks even better out in the wild!
