A3 TDI Review in The Diesel Driver
Nice review of the A3 TDI by The Diesel Driver.
The diesel invasion from Germany continues with the Audi A3 TDI. Audi started its clean diesel lineup in the States last spring with the big Q7 TDI that is now joined by the compact A3 five-door hatchback, the recipient of the 2010 Green Car of the Year award.TDI1
The sporty looking A3 – it comes standard with the S line exterior appearance package – shares its platform with the Golf/Rabbit.

Agg... 0-60mph in 9.1 seconds? I thought the TDI was just a hair behind the petrol version in acceleration. I know the A3 is not intended to be a speed demon, but that's some serious lag for a car of this nature.
Has anyone here with a petrol A3 test driven a diesel A3? Was there much of a performance difference in your experience?

Something I recently posted on another forum:
I recently purchased an '06 2.0T, it is the only car I have driven w/ the 2.0T engine. I also have an allroad that was in for service, I chose a 2010 A3 TDI as my loaner car so I could do a little comparing of the two. The '06 is significantly quicker, which has me thinking that maybe it is chipped/flashed.
I know the TDI isn't intended to be a little race engine, but I didn't expect such a difference in performance feel. Is there anything I can do to determine if the car has been flashed?

I take my original comment back, on Fourtitude there is a thread about chips for it. And Revo and another company supposedly make them, although I could find any info out there...
I did read on Club TDI that there is a chip for the '09 Jetta TDI which shares the same engine (I believe).
