Audi RS3 HomeLink
So Homelink is not an option on the RS3 but after speaking with dealership they might actually be able to install Homelink into the car or at least come up with some other built-in device to use as a garage door opener. Has anyone had any conversations with Audi about homelink or garage door openers? I'll let you know what i find out from dealership next week.

I haven't talked to a dealer about this but it's super annoying not to have this feature. I know Audi tends to trickle down its tech from 8's to 6's to 4's and so on but this is just a stupid missing feature. Here's another one: the back doors have a little tab you can press to lock/unlock the doors with a touch but it's not activated. That feature only works on the front doors. Dumb! Otherwise, awesome car so I'm not complaining.

Personally, I refuse to pay the dealer some exorbitant fee to add an aftermarket feature that should have been standard. Fo me, I bought a mini garage door opener for $25 and mounted it behind the shelf under the MMI using one of those magnetic phone mounts. It works fine, doesn't show and serves the purpose. As others have indicated, many features that should be standard or options are just not available. Take a look at the phone app and compare it to the capabilities of the A4 app.

In many ways the MQB platform is a bit of a bastard child in Audi's lineup. No memory seats, the MMI is less capable and slower even though on the surface it seems to be the same system as in the higher models, but it actually isn't, Homelink etc. Homelink I believe is a port installed option on the A3, but only if you didn't opt for the technology package. I had a base model A3 loaner last week and it had Homelink, but I read that if you get the technology package, there is no room for Homelink anymore. Not sure if that's still the case.

@michael818 Looks pretty straightforward. Thanks for sharing
Not elegant but it is effective. The opener does not have to be removed from the mount to work, just reach down and hit button.
