Any codes?
There's a couple of things it could be but probably the brake light switch under the pedal.
Quite common, they are plastic.
The good news is they are cheap, ($25) and a 5 minute DIY, no tools required but you do have to be a bit of a contortionist.
Buy genuine, a number of people have tried the aftermarket ones with mixed success and you are only saving $10.
If you do it yourself, dont play with the new plunger, just install it and it will self adjust when you push the brake pedal down.
