2 Piece headlight Conversion to 1 Piece all in one....
I would like to get the all in one (inc indicator) headlight kit for my 2000 A3, Does anyone know how much & where I can get them from?

I looked into this and was told it wasn't possible because the bumper is very slightly differant where it surrounds the light - I don't know if this is correct or not?
Also are you planning to use the xenon bulbs which come as standard with the one-piece unit? On pre-facelift A3's MAJOR rewiring work is required to fit the xenon headlamps and the xenon bulbs require much higher voltages compared to standard halogen bulbs.

The conversion is possible, but apparently requires some minor modifications / trimmings to the fender (ie. metalwork) to make the 1 piece units fit. There is a pre MY01 A3 running around Sydney with the MY01 headlights and taillights.
Chris is spot on re the xenons - this is a big big job not only due to the voltages, but also because self levelling kit is mandatory (and this is fitted to the car rather than just the light units). This is needed to ensure the cut off of the lights does not blind oncoming drivers.

There are cool indicator bulbs you can get (www.vagparts.com) that look clear when off but light up amber when indicating. So you don't have that fried-egg look of the all-orange bulbs. A(n) (cheaper) alternative to changing the whole fron light cluster assembly.

Re: 2 Piece headlight Conversion to 1 Piece all in one....
I have done this conversion. Its not at all straight forward. I have a 98A3. The connectors are not the same. I had to buy the correct connectors and place wires from this connector into the headlamp wiring.
After removing the old lamps, The new ones would not sit in straight, even after shaving the front fender with an angle grinder. The headlamp plastic housing had to shaved off at the corners (thankfully behind any showing parts). Even still, they are not a perfect fit. The lamp profile does not match the fender profile. The front wings will have to changed if you are fussy about fit otherwise you will have to live with a 1-2mm gap like I do.
Once the lights were mounted and wired in, it was time to mount the front bumper cover. I has a lot of trouble fitting this in because the lamps are larger and dont match the bumper profile near the grille. It eventually distorted into place after a lot of thumping and forcing. If you want to do this upgrade flawlessly, you will have to buy a new bumper cover/grille, front fenders, and a mounting bracket (to fit one of the 4 bolts - though mine are in place with just 3)
