I have a 2007 Audi A3 that shows an open hood warning on my dash but the hood is definitely in the closed position. I am pretty confident from reading posts that the issue is a faulty hood micro switch. I have also noticed that because of the faulty switch, I no longer have use of my wipers and wiper fluid.

Now the questions. Can anyone confirm that the wiper issues are directly related to the faulty switch and secondly can i disconnect the switch all together, isolate the wires so they don't touch and have my wipers working properly.
