Hi. Yesterday i noticed i had a bit of hassle turning the key to start my 2007 3.2 A3. Today, im unable to turn the key whatsoever. I can release the steering lock but wont turn electrics on. Having had a look on the net, im leaning towards my barrell is ****ed? Tried using spare key to no avail. Ive used cleaner to remove any debris in barrell if any.
This is really very sudden and am a bit stunned as to why its happened. Am i correct, (without taking it to a garage for a proper diagnosis) in thinking i need to replace the barrell or has anyone been able to fix this problem?

Same thing happened to me this morning. Took a lot of jiggling, but finally got the tumbler to turn to start the ignition. (A3 3.2 2007)

Did you ever get it fixed by audi? What was the problem, and what was the damage? Thanks!

P.S. The amount of jiggling seems to be completely random. Sometimes it's a non-issue, sometimes it's 10 minutes of jiggling.
