2010 S5 Clutch Disengagement Issue
Hey guys, I’ve been doing a lot of forum searching but can’t find a similar issue to what I need advice on. To start off, I am mechanically inclined and have a job working solely on European cars. I’m looking at purchasing a 2010 Audi S5, I looked at it today and the vehicle has an issue shifting into gears, it seems as if the clutch is not fully disengaging. If you start the vehicle in 1st gear it will roll foward with the clutch pedal fully depressed. You have to rev match the vehicle to get it to shift. I’ve read a lot about it being a failed clutch or flywheel or pressure plate in some cases. But the drivetrain makes no noises, the clutch pedal feels healthy. I’m wondering if this could be either air in the clutch line, slave cylinder, or possibly the clutch delay valve. Thank you so much!

Another note: engine does not want to die or seem to drop in rpm when in 1st gear, clutch depressed, brakes held. Vehicle has 125k miles and assumed original clutch.

Could be slave cyl related but at that mileage I bet it is the clutch. If the linings on the friction disc dislodge and stack it can make the clutch fail to release. ( had this on a TT once. ). If the pressure plate fails it can make one act weird and fail to release also.. ( had THIS on a Cayman once.)
Good Luck!
