2019 a5 sportback engine shudder
Hi Everyone,
Having a minor engine shudder while coming to a stop. Seems to be intermittent and only lasts a fraction of a second. I have managed to catch an uptick in RPM when it happens. Thoughts on what this could be? I’m just under 2k miles and wondering if this is worth a trip to the service center.
Best give you the heads up that I’m a total noob. First nice car after drivin a Mazda 3 for 10 years.

Most likely the clutches releasing on the S tronic transmission as the engine approaches stall speed, which would be why you also see an increase in rpm (will rise to idle speed). As long as it stays minor, seems normal to me. The dealer may have some ability to calibrate this, but it is not a torque converter and there will always be some slight judder at very low speeds.

I guess its just a normal thing with these transmissions? I previously had an 2017 a4 and the problem got pretty bad, made lots of shudder sounds and clacking sounds (which could be something else wrong idk).

How many KM you have got on your car? and when it started happening?
