2019 RS5 Interior Lighting
I checked out an RS5 Sportback at the local auto show this weekend. The car was gorgeous but I was surprised that the car didn't have any of the cool LED lighting that's found in the newer S4's and comparable BMW's and Mercedes. Why do these not have this? I'm talking about the led strips that go along the doors that you can change colors?

Same exact setup as Prestige S4, S4, Allroad.

Best to go see an S4/S5/SQ5 Prestige in person if an RS5 isn’t available to look at. There are LED’s in three sections - line level, footwell and surface. Brightness can be controlled for all, as can colorways.

I was surprised at the amount of configurable lighting in the car and what it looks like at night. Some is LED pinstripe lighting (like on the doors and around the cup holders) and some is more diffuse (down from the center console, onto the door panels, and in the footwells). All is color and brightness configurable. If you go to a dealership, I recommend going when it's dark and look at a car that's outside.

not only does it have it (and a LOT), you can also set it to change color based on your driving modes (Comfort/Dynamic/Ind) which was interesting. Something more useful though is if you start to open the door when say you are parallel parked and a can is coming, all the lights on that door will turn red.
