Hi,

Im hoping someone on here might be able to help me out.

I bought a 2014 2.0 TD A5 back in November and I am unable to play music from my phone over the AMI.

The phone does connect via Bluetooth and I can take calls, however I am unable to play music from my phone.

Does anyone know how to get around this issue.

This is a common issue. You will need to buy a bluetooth receiver that plugs into the port in your glove box. I found one on eBay for under $30 and it works flawlessly.

Ridiculous that a 2014 Audi would come without BT streaming standard but it's true. Audi really dropped the ball there.

Wow. Did not know this. Even Q7 which is an older design started including Bluetooth audio in 2012. ( maybe 2013.)
we had a 2011 Q7 and I used a Tune 2 Air unit on it. Worked pretty well. Our 2015 Q7 and 2015 S5 both have audio streaming of course and MMI operation is near identical between the two.

I bought 2 bluetooth ami plugs, 1 china made which is $25 which does not display the song that i play, while a $80 amazon bovee tune2air will display all my spotify/youtube/etc music tracks on the audi ami system, so your choice.

Personally i feel that the bovee tune2air is a good investment as it displays the track names that i am playing.

if you go into MMI and into settings > bluetooth > telephone I think there is an option to put ON for Music over Bluetooth
