S5 vs A5????

Glisse is spot on. Especially the advice to test drive them extensively to simulate your driving habits. I took a few months off this forum because the choir of owners complaining and wailing about the D mode of their S5s got to be too much. How could one not have known this before purchase? As noted, the D mode is for daily driver duties for maximum economy while a flick of the wrist sends it to S mode with all the acceleration and response one could want. I love my S5SB, so much so that I invested another $4k into the Abt power upgrade and anti sway bars, which gives me most of the S5 elements that I wanted. Regarding the A5, it is a fine car indeed. My wife has the 2018 A4, which has the same basic set up only in a typical sedan format. I thoroughly enjoy driving it and find the engine sweet, strong, and responsive--easy acceleration and terrific manners. But again, drive them all until the salesman is fully exasperated, then make an informed decision and don't look back.

I went in wanting an A5 but it felt anemic when I test drive the S5. Well, several months later I kick myself because all these posts about the RS5 and well, you can never have enough power so if you can don't be a dumbass like me, get the RS5 from the start. I currently drive a 2015 Hyundai Sonata. I recently visited the Audi dealership in Jacksonville and checked out both
the 2018 Audi s5 and the 2018 Audi a5. The salesman gave me a ride in the s5 and it was mind-blowing. I am unsure of whether
to pay the extra money for the s5 or buy the a5 and tune it. The only reason I am in love with the 2018 model is due to the new cockpit tech
and the new interior they have rolled out. Should I maybe just buy an earlier year and look for an rs5? I am completely new to the Audi world,
hopefully, someone can help me out.
TIA
