Default 2011 Audi A5 - Dual Exhaust like the 3.2 was in 2010

Hey guys,

I'm not sure if this has been discussed but with a quick search I couldn't find anything about it. Let me start by saying I have no idea why Audi decided to steer away from the dual exhaust setup in 2011 on the coupe. What makes it even worse is that the cabriolet comes with it yet it's not an option for the coupe. They should have made them all standard with the dual exhaust like the 2010 3.2 version had.

Anyways, I'm trying to get that setup on my 2011 A5 S-Line. I don't want a "performance exhaust" with any type of sound. I'm strictly looking for the appearance of the dual exhaust. Has anyone converted their 2011 A5 to have the exhaust setup like the 2010 3.2 car had last year?

I'm wondering if I can buy the rear bumper from a 2010 or even from the 2011 cabriolet that comes with the dual exhaust and then bring the car to a muffler shop?

I really hate the look of the double exhaust on the one side!

Anybody have any experience or knowledge please chime in!

Thank you in advance.

Thanks for the link but that just discusses aftermarket "performance exhaust" systems that I don't want.

If I get the rear valence from either the 2011 cabriolet or the 2010 3.2 that had the duals can I just bring it to any muffler shop and have them split it? The muffler would have to be farther back so it can be split AFTER the muffler. If the muffler is right behind the valence or bumper it wouldn't work.

Follow what I'm saying? I want it to look and sound like stock just with the dual exhausts.

From all the research I've done it looks like this is how it goes. In a nutshell it basically breaks down to this if I understand correctly. If you have a 2011 A5 S Line 2.0T and you want exhaust on each side it's one of the following:

If you want the S5 look exhaust wise with the quad tips I would buy the S5 valence and exhaust system. Then bring it to a muffler shop and have them do the install.

If you want the 3.2 look with single exhaust on each side then I would buy the 3.2 S Line valence from last year and the exhaust system. Then bring it to a muffler shop and have them do the install.

Seems pretty straight forwards. Am I missing anything? I've seen a few mentions of heat shields. Is this required for the conversion? Any other parts?

Can anybody chime in here if this is accurate that has sucessfully done the conversion on their 2011?

I wonder what kind of sound the 3.2 A5 or S5 exhaust makes when install into cars with 2.0T engine? 3.2 prob won't make any changes due since it's like making 2 seperated pipes instead of having both on the same sides.
