What I'm asking is . Since 2013 is the first year of the facelift. Is there any reason to avoid the 2013 specifically.
I assume the v6t suffer from carbon build up also ?

It'd be just the opposite. They tend to be more reliable than earlier versions. I know the pre-facelift S4's, which use the V6T, had more problems than the later models (like the thermostat for instance).

And yes, The V6T is a direct injection engine so it does suffer from carbon buildup. It seems that they aren't as bad as earlier Audi models from even five years prior. Audi RS4? Really bad. Although I recently did a rally with a relatively high mileage RS4 that had never been carbon cleaned. Started up and purred like a kitten. I know Audi made numerous changes to the RS5's engine and ECU logistics which does appear to build up carbon at a much slower rate than the RS4's V-8. I'm at about 44K and have not been carbon cleaned yet but I plan on doing it as soon as the temps drop down below the hell on earth threshold. Audi most likely made changes when designing the V6T to help minimize carbon buildup as much as possible but it'll still happen.

One thing you can do to help slow it down is change your oil every 5K instead of the 10K interval. But do a search and I'm sure there are owners who have other suggestions as well.

Ok am I explaining this correctly . I'm looking for a 2013 to 2015 s5. Is there any reason to avoid the 2013 for any options/mechanical difference since its the first year of facelift. And or the fact that it's the first year of the facelift .

The facelift is mostly cosmetic with new lights, front facia, etc... So no reason to avoid. The engine has been in use since what, 2010? So Audi's had 3 years to work out the bugs.

Only complaint is that the right B&O door speaker has had an intermittent rattle. Audi fixed this before the warranty went out, but it came back. Took the door panel off and could not locate it for the life of me. I believe it’s the cover, but I honestly haven’t been motivated to pull it off again.

I’ve been contemplating selling her off since I’ve moved out of the city, but I don’t know if I can bring myself to do it. The car is phenomenal. 10/10.
having the same issue on driver door B&O rattle.. Taking it in next week, I will update everyone on the FIX

Been debating about getting a 2006 to 2008 Carrera 4 or 4s. Not sure how they compare to s5 in reliability and expense of parts .

FWIW I traded my 2013 S5 Cab (purchased new) for my 2017 S5 Coupe. The 2013 Cab was 4 1/2 years old, and I did not have one single issue (except for a recall) during the time I owned it.
