2015 S5 - Xpel Wrap
My car finally made it to the US and now it's off to Invisguard for the XPel Stealth wrap. The in process pictures shows a pretty good contrast of the Pearl versus matter.
What do you think? It should be done on Tuesday

Per the XPEL Warranty it lasts 10 years- I am not sure if I would keep it that long. All in it cost $4500 which isn't cheap, but for the added protection not bad. You can run it though a car wash no problem. There is some advanced maintenance you can do it keep it at it's best but not required.
A friend of mine just got a M5 with the Matte Finish Paint and hasn't washed his car in 6 weeks because he is waiting on special soap and can't take it to the car wash.
Some new side by side pictures are below.

Very very nice ! So this is a transparent vinyl which brings a matte feel to the pearl finish I guess.
Sorry for the questions, but could you have waited before doing this, or is this a process you need to do when new.
And when this is removed, the paint is protected and looks brand new.
Really impressed. I ordered an RS5 2015 Daytona Grey and you have me wondering now !

You have it exactly right. You can have it applied at anytime. Since I was in part going for scratch protection, I wanted to do it right away.
Just like you, I was Daytona Gray Pearl and then the vinyl converts it to a matte finish. I figure when I get bored with matte finish, I will just have it taken off and I should have as good as new Pearl finish underneath.
Matte Paint Protection Film - XPEL Stealth Protection Film
I confirmed with my insurance company that if I do get into an accident, they will pay to have it re-applied. Let's hope that never happens.
