Default A5 Convertible Car Wash

I drive a 2013 A5 Convertible and am wondering--have any of you ever taken your Audi convertible through an automatic car wash? Thanks!

My 2013 S5 Cab went through one about 10 times over the 4+ years I owned it. Never had any issues.

Seems like a dumb idea. Spraying chemicals mean to cleanse and "wax" metal all over the cab's cloth roof? So many nopes.

It's fine. I live in an area that has plenty of winter weather. The damage to the paintwork caused by road salt and sand far outweighs any concerns I could have about the automatic car wash. I take it for one twice yearly and never have an issue.

Soap is fine. Wax...yeah, no. Rubbish "value add" on the car wash's part anyway.

Its probably fine if not done in excess. I hand wash my S5 cab in the garage during the winter, at least once a month. Don't want to strip off too much wax between wax jobs, and don't trust the stuff from the auto wash. Any other time, I use a waterless car wash service that comes to my work and costs about per $15 / wash & wax. Its pretty "green" and worth the convenience charge. They do someone's Ferrari and a Maserati in the same lot, so I guess its OK for the rest of us pleebs.
