Default a5 lighter socket doesn't work

I just purchased a 2012 A5 cab with 3G+ & Nav. The power socket in the front middle arm rest works great, but not the one with the actual lighter. The lighter has a circular light around it that glows red, but same charger that works in the arm rest doesn't in the lighter socket. Also, I've tried to use the lighter but that doesn't seem to work either (I press the button in but it immediately pops back out to where it started).

The car is CPO until Oct 2017. The tech's CPO report has the lighter & ashtray checked as good.

Am I doing something wrong? Do I have to set something up to get the lighter to function? Or should I take into the dealer?

Thanks!

I just had the same issue with my 2014 a5. I noticed the day I picked my car up and took it back the next day. It was a blow fuse, and the dealer fixed it pretty quickly.

Default fuse location

Thanks for the suggestion about the blown fuse. I understand the fuse box is in the passenger side compartment in the trunk.

Based on some quick Internet research, I think the fuse is question is circled in green in the following picture.

It should be the upper left ones, 20 and 30amps one! I only have this in my car
I'm going to buy amps as well because they are both blown and I can't use cigarette lighter for charging my phone!

My top two fuses of 20amp each for front and rear cigarette lighter!

Default Fixed! Was a blown fuse

My cigarette lighter is now working (at least it powers my iPhone, haven't tried lighting an actual cigarette!).

It was a simple blown fuse. The cigarette lighter fuse location is the location I circled in green in my previous post (and included here too). The other two 15 amp fuses in that same red "lane" are the fuses for the front central console power socket and the rear central console power socket.

Djadnankhan: we must have different cars, because the power socket fuses in my 2012 A5 cab are located in the passenger side compartment of my trunk. Very different than what you show in your picture.

Green circle indicates the fuse location for the cigarette lighter for a 2012 A5 quattro cabriolet.
