Default Audi Loyalty

i posted this in another thread below and saw no answer. i think this is important to know how it works for those of us buying another audi.

does the dealer get the loyalty discount back from the dealer (hence allowing them to keep the margin on the car) or is it a cost that the dealer has to absorb (lowering the margin)? If they get it back from AoA then we should be able to leverage at minimum a $1000 discount (and theoretically more) if we have a good relationship with the dealer. If they do not get it back from AoA then dealers will be less likely to offer it at all and that gives us less leverage negotiating a bigger discount.

anyone know how it works?

It's my understanding that it's through loans through AFS and will waive Security Deposit ($500)

Can anyone confirm that it is $1000? I thought that it was changed to security only?

I can. Security deposit only. no loyalty programs currently other that the 06 A4 to new 08 A4 program and the A6 program. prev. AFS customers are eligible for sec. deposit waiver and no turn in fee($350) on existing AFS lease.

The money goes to the customer as applied to the down payment or capitalized cost reduction. The dealer is not reimbursed.
