Just got an Audi A5 2008 and wanted to upgrade the sound system. Does anyone know how many speakers there are and their sizes?
Thanks all!!

2. There should be a separate stereo brochure in your Audi folding pouch in your glovebox. The same pouch that has your owner's manual and other Audi brochures.
3. Have you searched this forum yet because this subject has been covered numerous times. There's excellent info ref upgrading the B&O sub with an after market 10" 8ohm sub.
4. I agree with Leif 100%. Even the basic sound system has lots of adjustability. Go to youtube and search for "Hidden Menu" for your car ref the stereo.

Well as a start I have to replace the factory head unit and have decided to use an aftermarket double din model instead of audi factory. The current head unit has screen damage and is the Japanese version (car from japan). I am not sure what my current car is whether symphony or b&o but I will try and find out. ps brochures are in Japanese :P

If it's a 2008 and has B&O then there will be the B&O logo's on the ring around the speaker grills. Do you have navigation and or back-up camera?
How about posting a pic of your system?

It appears you have the B&O system. Does it not have the B&O logo stamped on the trim rings around the speakers?

Although your screen looks like it's seen better days, you're not going to get as good results trying to integrate an after market head unit.
Although you have Japanese formatting, you can change all of that by doing a firmware and map update for the region you live in now. It will give you all the current map data as well as all of your regions data that applies to radio etc etc. I would try that route first before deciding to try and tear apart the oem system. Unless you're willing to spend very big $$ to swap out the display and head unit to one that will integrate into existing systems (like steering wheel controls), stick with the oem system ..... for now.
Where do you live? If in the US or Canada, there's a guy in Toronto area that can do it remotely for very cheap.
