Depends what is important to you.

Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3 +
Conti DWS 06

if you want an all weather tire more geared towards snowy weather, go with a nokian wrg3 or wrg4.

I have had the Michelins and I did not have any issues through 2 winters in S. Jersey (not much snow this year). The latest Tire Rack tests gave an edge to Conti DWS 06 for snow. It is time for me to get new ones and I will be getting the DWS 06

Conti DWS seems to be a very popular tire.

Conti DWS is a great tire. Wears quicker than a non "ultra-high performance all-season" but very good. It is expected though. Better in the winter than most other UHP AS tires. But once any of these AS tires are half worn, I would not suggest taking them out in the snow...

I stopped running no-season tires a long time ago and I'll never go back. So much happier with dedicated summer performance tires and a performance snow tire. Yes, it's a little more money up front to get an extra set of rims but you end up putting half the miles on each set so in the long run it's more than worth it to have vastly superior traction year round.

I am part way there. I have summer on one set of rims and all season on the other. I hate having the snow tires on in late fall and early spring. I know dedicated snow tires, they are amazing in actual snow. I had some for my mustang and used to blow by so many other cars in the snow.

Yeah, on the FWD CC I had before the S5 I had blizzak ws60's and the car was pretty much unstoppable. I'm going back and forth between another 100% snow tire like the WS60 or a more performance oriented snow tire like the Pirelli Winter Sottozero for this S5. I had performance snows on an 05 GTO and they were a good compromise between good snow performance but still being somewhat fun to drive on the 90% of the time the roads were clear but in the really ugly snow storms (the kind skiers like myself drive through to enjoy the best skiing of the year) they definitely weren't as good a regular snows.
