Brake pad wear light came on 3 days ago...was expecting this as my pads / rotors have around 50k miles on them. Then yesterday the red warning light Brake came on (this isn't the same warning light as the pad wear indicator which looks like a broken circle...this one actually says Brake)..do you guys know what this means? Can I drive the car? Car is stopping well etc. I've ordered parts online and just waiting for delivery so I can take the car to the shop.

Also...I have the Carista ecu adaptor...running diagnostics doesn't bring up any ABS or Brake error codes...I would have assumed it would at least bring up an error for the pads being worn.

Anyone's recommendation or help would be very appreciated.

The only error that came up was in the engine section. 08902 was the fault code

What model do you drive? I have an S5 2014 and my brake light came on as well. I have 55k miles on it. What kind of maintenance did you do on it? Also, I didn't get a "Brake pad warning" light, just a "Brake" light on my dash.

I have a 2013 S5. So what I had was the circular low brake pad warning light in addition to the Brake light...that's the error combo you get when your brake pads need to be changed. A stand alone brake warning would be a different issue with the brakes. I have ordered rotors and pads to replace....should be done this week.

Last service I got (about 13k ago) they mentioned my pass were low yet i only got 1 indicator on my dash. Suggestions? Since I’m here-I’m due for service-last one was a major at 35k. Per the book I should be doing a major one too but I don’t think I need it. Thoughts?
