3.0T has more potential for HP, and way better gas milage.... I have a 3.0T C7 A6 thats Stage 2+ and I just made a 1200 mile road trip to pick up my 2010 S5 with the 4.2 The 3.0t averaged 32mpg @ 85 mph while the 4.2 averaged 21 mpg @ 85mph.....

That's stage 2. The non remapped version would probably get around 24-6ish.
I went and bought a V8 with 53K miles on it in the end
. I realised if i'm buying an S5 then I shouldn't worry about the MPG, and the V8 sound far surpasses the extra few MPG from the v6.
