The voice recognition activated about thirty minutes after I enabled it with the Carista.

Carista Worked great on my car 14 rs5 vert, at first it din’t work but after few starts started working.

I purchased a pre-owned 2014 S5 Cab a few months back and Voice would not work. Needed to turn off my service light which Audi wanted $100 to do so I purchased a Carista device and 1 year subscription, $60 total. Not only able to turn off the service light but also turn on several features on the car including voice recognition. Not may issues with top down driving especially with the windscreen up. Also enabled remote open/close on the top, fog lamps for cornering and several other useful features. Well worth the $40/yr just for the service light feature alone if you do any of your own work or service somewhere other than Audi dealership. Disclaimer, 42K miles but out of warranty.
