Default Considering a 2011 A5, have some concerns

Hey all - I'm considering buying my first Audi, a 2011 A5, and would like to get some feedback from the community. I know that there have been major problems in terms of oil consumption with this model. Based on what I've seen in terms of consumer complaints and resale values, 2011 seems to be the worst offending year. I reached out to the dealer and checked the carfax and it seems that this particular vehicle has already received the stage 2 repair from the dealer to address the oil consumption issue. My concern is that the probably might not be completely dealt with. Any recommendations on what I could do to validate that the car's oil consumption issues have been corrected? I doubt that the seller will allow me to take the car out on the highway for 4 hours to see if any oil is being consumed. Are there any other issues with this year / model I should be concerned with? I've heard the Turbos can be an issue as well. Please let me know your thoughts - thanks!

I suggest having the engine compression tested. A stage 2 fix does not necessarily mean freedom from future oil consumption issues neither does a compression test. The objective is to ensure that the engine does not consume oil before you purchase it. Do a search in this forum and you'll find out recurring oil consumption issues even after the 'fix' has been done. I have not heard of issues with the turbos unless the previous owner didn't do their due diligence to let their engines cool down before turning it off after a hard run.

I would not touch it. Two owners already and last owner had major engine work done and shortly thereafter turned it in. NOT AUDI CERTIFIED.

For a couple K's more and very neg. you can get a premium, although not Prestige, two years newer and possibly less oil consumption issues, one owner, Audi certified 6yrs/100K, less miles 34K vs 25K, A5 B8.5 facelift and in the color you want.

Default Agreed. No one should buy an audi without certification

Or at least a two year warranty that your particular audi dealer will honor, not the 3rd party warranty from some strip car dealer.
