Just to be clear, I was driving a mini up until 2 years ago, I am not a car lover, but I love the A5!

Anyway, I have an appointment with the dealership and my car "jumps" especially when I back up early in the morning. It makes a noise and the steering wheel feels a little jumpy at the same time.

The steering sometimes gets stiff too.

My experience tells me it is the rack and pinion, but it definitely be something else.

Thoughts? I don't know these guys too well and I want to make sure it is fixed and they just don't charge me a lot and not fix the problem(s).

I've been driving Audi since 1975, with first Quattro in 2003, a 2.7T. had a 2006 A6, 2010 A6 and now a 2012 A5, all Quattro that made an unusual noise while turning while the car was creeping slowly. They all did it. I also have a 2014 Quattro A6 that doesn't do it. On my first experience with it, I took it to the Audi dealer. Response was, although I didn't like it, that's not a problem. In the 11 years with that experience, it never was a problem other than my not liking it. Let me know how it turns out for you.
