Anyone had a problem of a tinny noise when the car changes from 5th gear to 4th (does it from 3rd to 4th too). Its like its down to one of the clutches but Audi have just told me its normal. I don't agree a noise like this from the gearbox is normal an an expensive car like this.

Any thoughts or advice?

Its a 09/2014 S5 convertible and I've only had it since August so want to get it resolved whilst I still have it under warranty.

Get audi to have it looked at by the regional representative. Further, try a test ride in a new S5 or a used 2014 S5.

Be prepared to document the time, date, and people you deal with and raise it up the chain of command, preferably through the dealer. Also, try taking it to another dealer/service department and get a different mechanic opinion.

Audi doesn't like to replace gearboxes...especially on an S5!

Thanks. Audi have said this is normal but I can see no mention of it and it isn't something I've experienced with other DSG's/Cars.
Will try Audi UK.
