On the fence about buying an s5
Hi all,
Totally new to Audis and this forum but I couldnt think of a better place to post!
I am looking to buy a 2011 S5. It's done 90k miles and has been involved in an accident. Serviced well with 1 owner but its the accident part that im really on the fence about. Below is a list of repair work carried out through insurance at a legit workshop. I'm in the US and the repairs cost about $8k. Should I buy or not?

Do you have a budget to work with? Are you dead set on a 2008-2012 model? I personally would not purchase a vehicle that has been in an accident. I'd take a little higher mileage over damage repair any day. My 2014 currently has 75,000 miles and runs like new. I take very good care of it with all scheduled maintenance, and there are others out there that do as well if you look. If you're not in a hurry I would wait a little bit or even expand your purchase distance for a no damage vehicle.

I'll play devil's advocate here. That is a pretty good price for a 2011 Cab/Prestige with the bullet proof V6. I'd first get a very good independent inspection, since you're getting it below market. If they won't allow for an inspection, then I'd pass.

+1 on getting an independent inspection. From the repair documentation, sounds like a frontal-(left) corner impact. Interesting that no damage to the hood -- only the front quarter-panel.. so the front bumper and such did its job well. If inspection reveals nothing ominous... kind of depends on what your budget is... and your time frame for making a purchase. If your time frame is open... that and expanding your search radius might find a rig without accident damage (fixed).
When I found my '15 S5 Coupe... I expanded my search radius and found a low-mileage fully loaded beauty about 150 miles away. Dedicated 1 day to make a trip for test drive and inspection.... bought it for about $6K under fair market value. I gave the dealership several days to finalize the prep/delivery (detail it, etc.) and I flew up 1-way and drove it home. I love the supercharged v6... especially in Dynamic/Sport mode!
