Interesting. Still the question of tilt v. open. Also George@Fourtitude states it will be at NY show
Wow, I actually like that shade of red. I usually hate red cars.
Looks nice. They even have the U.S. front license plate provision on the front
and the amber reflector - Looks ready to go...
Man, what a great looking car. Between this and a new TT is going to be a hard decision.
That looks awesome. So what tuner is going to replace those Dumbo ears of mirrors?
Function > Form.
Unfortunately they comply with new regulations instored by the U.S of A..
If they were the same color or the car, you probably wouldn't think they're big.
I personally don't think they're big at all.
I actually like red, but despise burgundy/wine color, but this is a really beautiful shade.
for the lazy

Re: Sunroof
This is supposedly the company that makes the "Panorama" sun roof. It appears the roof design is full function (tilt up or slide back), I don't know why they would disable it.<ul><li><a href="http://www.webasto.com/products/en/2990.html">Webasto</a></li></ul>
Maybe they're afraid...
...to release a pic with the panorama roof open for fear of reaction! I've seen A3s with the roof open and I'm not sure I like the appearance.
I don't usually like Audis in red but that looks fantastic!!!
Still Euro spec on the back plate area? Looks like a black strip still in that area.
Does the US not require orange reflectors built into the bumper now? Not sure why the hell other car companies would be putting them there unless it was a requirement. Just having the reflector in the headlights should make for easy removal, which is nice.
Not my favorite red, what was that non-metallic blood red from the B6 called?
Are the regulations only for 2008-up? Looked at 2007 BMW and they are still
getting away with the slimmer versions.
Menstrual red?
The mirrors on my parents' Denali are smaller. New regs or not, they're huge.
Except this isn't about form or function but lame safety regs.
It's not like Audi is being beseiged by complaints of tiny mirrors, after all. The ones on my B7 are just fine.
Amulet, maybe? I personally think this looks richer, at least in these pics.
Pretty sure it was called something else...
yup saw that car Tuesday nite in Woodland Hills
what evidence? FMCSA website says nothing about rule change for mirrors...
the code is 571.111
no proposed, interim or final rule changes listed for mirrors. in fact, right side convex mirrors aren't even a requirement - just an option. |
A huge 2nd on that comment!
True, but I love the oversized mirrors on our allroad. Of course, in that case, they fit with the
over all design of the car. Having said that, their usefulness in getting around in traffic is much improved over the mirrors on my old A4.
Garnet Red Pearl Effect? Beautiful!
The front looks awesome...
the big mirrors are a design technique, they make the car seem bigger and roof much lower
just look at it carefully. DaSilva is a genius that thing is going to look menacing in real life.
Because the panoramic roof is so large that...
with just about 6" of sliding it'll hit the shark fin?
Spotted today in Downtown LA
wow.
