Default Getting electrical connector off of coil pack?

Trying to diagnose a misfire and wanted to swap coil packs between cylinders. How is the electrical connector supposed to release from the coil pack? I tried pushing back (away from the coil) on the little tab, pulling up on the little tab, sticking a screwdriver in front of the little tab and prying back, and all I succeeded in doing was breaking off 3 of the 4 little tabs. WTF? I even tried to watch several YouTube videos and guys are just popping these damn things off left and right but as soon as you get a hand or a screwdriver in there, you can't see what they're doing. As if having the car down isn't bad enough....

They are a bit tricky. Push the tab in with you thumb them push the connector toward the coil then away from it. BUT, these are plastic parts sitting next to a hot engine. They get brittle and/or stuck, and the only way to get them off sometimes is what you did.

They are replaceable. At 100k, I just replaced all of mine when changing plugs.
