Great tip for disabling "Passenger Airbag Off" light
 

Thought I'd point out for those A5/S5 owners like me who can't stand the bright orange "Passenger Airbag Off" light, there's a great simple 5 minute tip posted on the A4/S4 forum by B8aruba that is completely reversible, and clean:

Be careful if you occas carry a small lightweight adult , like an 80 + y/o shrinking " granny" - the tone goes off and the warning light comes on ( the seat senses no adult- sized passenger heavy enough to arm the bag ) - a simple shift in weight/change seating position is enough until the" air bag OFF" warning light goes off again. This has happened a few times to me.

If you disable the warning light permanently, the passenger doesn't know if the bag is rearmed.

If your passengers are all supersized , no big deal , though !

Why does the passenger need to "know" if the bag is armed? It's not like they could do anything about it with that knowledge any way.

Also, nice crack about fat people.

Here's another example .
My 12 1/2 y/o daughter is 5" 3 but weighs just 80 lbs but is legal by age to sit in the front. The tone/light still occas go off and as the driver , I monitor the light until I see she has shifted her weight enough on the weight sensor in the seat to rearm the bag ( light goes off ) . So it is the responsible driver who needs to " know ". That's the reason the " annoying " light is there in the first place.
It was also helpful when she ad just turned 12 and told me she could ride in the front but was way too light to arm the bag at any time and gave me support to require she still sit in the back even though at the time she said it " embarrassed " her at school drop off time !
