Hot center console
Has anyone else experienced the hot center console by where your right leg would touch the side of the console?
I have an S5 and recently went on a long drive and noticed that the center console (close to the parking brake button) on the driver's side gets pretty hot. Would this be because of the engine, the electronics, or is my baby defective?

How hot? I've put over 15K on this car and I've never noticed it..
I even looked for a cutaway drawing to see what is under there but couldn't find anything..
Do you have an auto tranny? maybe thats near there.

I 2nd Roswell's query; is your car an automatic? I've owned another car in the past (a two-door, four-seater) that got hot exactly where you are describing, and it has always come from the transmission. For instance, in said car, if I were doing a lot of stop-and-go/city driving and I put my palm on the tranny tunnel, I could feel it heating up. But if I went straight onto a highway after starting the car up, it would remain cool to the touch. You should stop by the dealer when you get a chance.
