I finally got the APR stage one for my 2010 A5 2.0T
Ok, I finally got the APR stage one for my 2010 A5 2.0T. I did it at K&H Radiator (Mario), even gave me "shuttle" service, so his crew drove me back to work, picked me up and drove me back down to pick up my car.
Ok, the performance, I honestly didn't feel a thing when I drove back, I thought he set it back to 91 program when he demo to me. I hope its just not set to 91 yet. What should I pay attention to? Low end between 1500 and 3000 RPM?
Is there any way to check (indication) that its currently running the 91 program?
I better read the manual. But just wanted to give you guys some feedback.

You should definitely feel the difference throughout the powerband.
I'm guessing a couple things could have happened.
1) The shop didn't properly install the chip. Stuff happens sometimes. Just ask them to reinstall it and show you that it is working.
2) The shop has it in "stock" mode and you need to use the cruise control to switch it to your standard octane tune.

Also remember that these ECUs need about 15-30 minutes of driving to fully allow the tune to adapt. So, it could be that as well.
I'm sure you'll get it figured out and then you'll be enjoying all the extra power and torque

thanks atombomb, I just hope its because its in stock mode still. And I also hope I don't have to "gun it" to feel the difference, I shouldn't based on the graph. Its been more than 15-30 mins that's for sure. I will change that during lunch today and find out when I drive home.
Another "I hope" is I hope the install was successful because I thought the guy was very professional.

I don't have any experience with this sort of car as far as performance modifications, but I'd assume it'd take a good amount of aggressive driving before the ECU starts to work with the new tune/chip.
From what I've been reading, these cars are uber smart and every little thing is accounted for through the ECU. I'd try to get on it for a while and see if there's any difference there. If there is, do some less aggressive driving and see if the computer has adapted to the chip, yet.
I'm trying to get as much information as possible because I don't think it'll be long before I go with some sort of performance chip after I get my A5, hopefully next week at some point. Very interested in this sort of thing because, as I said, I've never owned a car like this .. and these chips for European cars are supposed to work wonders.

I don't understand why you are keeping it on stock mode and not manually setting the 91 octane program yourself. Most tuners will leave the program on stock after flashing the ECU.

and a chipped 3.2 will walk over your 2.0T and a chipped S5 will walk over both of us and and RS5 will walk all over us.. what's your point? You just installed a chip in your vehicle and so far you aren't getting that expected result, how much did you spend already? Audi is not civic, you should know better!
