Default I need advice have to make a decision from my rs5 to r8 4.2 I need advice have to mak

guys im not sure what i should do.. i have 2013 rs5 daytona grey with 11k miles posted a couple posts down a few days ago about wrapping my car with door jams and putting h+r coilovers on t he rs5. with front sway bar and apr mobile i have an apr tune awe exhaust and oe sport springs with rear sway bar... already with gloss black 20 in stock wheels with h r spacers.. for them to do the job will cost 5k ....my buddy is a dealer and just got a 2009 r8 v8 black on black ..black rims red calipers fully loaded manual mint....with 27k miles... no warranty will have to pay 3500 for the 3 year.... i drove it and its amazing.. he will give it to me for 91k out the door with taxes and warranty... i will have to put 10k down and my payment would jump up about 200 a month from my rs5 payment... the loan amount will be 60 months exactly what i have left on the rs5..... can believe how much value the rs5 dropped was 80 k and dealer will give me 60k.... im upside either way but what would u guys do and what will the r8 hold its value better since its older?

I would get a lower price on R8 and a better trade-in on RS5. R8's are rare. RS5's are also rare, but S5 and A5, which are similar looking are not.

you always loose money with trade-ins even for rare cars..

for rare cars you have to go private seller!!!!

Consider your RS5 in 2018(!) has the same age as this R8 from 2009 now (it has very old navi, mmi, etc) and think about the depreciation you will have from now on on your RS5: it will be much lower (and less per year)!

It sounds not so good to just take the worst, first year of depreciation, and then switch over, better do it in 2018, and then buy a second hand (but totally new!) R8 from 2015 (which will be based on the new lambo just released).

If you buy a R8 now, next year it will be a really "old" car when this new R8 is there. Your RS5 will be still "new" for a few years, since the new A5/S5 will come (end of) 2015, so the RS5 probably just in 2017/18 (and then you buy this re-newed R8!).
