JHM Stage 1 tune for the B8.5 RS5
Just a PSA, I know most RS5 owners have found their way to Audizine but it looks like we finally have a legitimate, worth the money tune from JH Motorsports. No affiliation, just a customer. Produced a legitimate 25hp peak and more hp everywhere across the rev range. I dyno tested once and will be doing another test on a different dynamometer so I can get an rpm signal and plot torque. Yes, it's an extremely low-reading dyno. But what matters is the delta change. Stock intake, AWE exhaust. I also tested with the Eventuri intake and the OEM intake produced a few more hp. I plan on retesting the intake as well.
It's a definite seat-of-the-pants improvement. It's like going from hooning the car on a 95 degree day to a 60 degree day. JH is saying they ran a 12.1 in 80 degree weather on street tires, 91 octane. Stage 2, which isn't available yet, is basically a TCU tune which allows the car to make more power without the TCU's code pulling out the hp nannies. It won't let the car make much more power as-is. Supposedly E85 in the works too. We could see a legitimate 50hp gain at the wheels with just a tune. This would be in line with what the V10 R8 tune gets on a per cylinder basis.
