Joining the family... need some advice.

Hi all!
Friday morning I was rear ended and my car is TOTALED. Soooo.. I'l be joining the Audi family about 2 years sooner than expected. Since this is totally unexpected, I instead of getting something newer. I have a budget of about 16,000k. I've found a beautiful 2012 A5 2.0T Quattro Premium Plus Coupe for $14,985. Only issue is it has 86,239 miles. I've never purchased a used vehicle before, but I know the general rule of thumb is 15,000 miles per year. Everyone is in my ear about a German vehicle with this many miles. Do any of you own a 2012? Will this beauty be giving me problems soon?

BTW Carfax history is clean.

I'm on my 3rd Audi..before my current 2014 S5 purchased as a CPO, I had a 2004 Audi A6 Avant with 115k miles (was stolen). Purchased with 84k miles on it, had a pre-purchase inspection that came up clean. I had no issues with the car and at 115k it developed a slight oil leak, which is expected at that age. Otherwise the car ran fine.

I suggest if you aren't going CPO through Audi, get a pre-purchase inspection at a reputable garage.

As boogie mentioned above, I too recommend having the car inspected by a qualified Audi mechanic or an Audi dealer to find out if there are any issues or potential issues with it. The 2.0L TFSI engine of that vintage may have oil consumption and timing chain/guide issues. These issues should have been addressed from MY 2012 and upwards. However, depending on the production date, it may still have those issues.

Aside from Carfax, try to have an Audi dealer run the VIN on this car and find out details of its service history.
