There's still hope tho. HPA Motorsports has made a transmission tune that enables launch control on past DSG/S-tronic models that don't come w/ launch control from the factory. Perhaps they are working on a similar tune for the S4/S5 S-tronics.

so it sucks to have an S4 just because it doesn't have a 'launch control'? I drove an 2010 S4 6 speed and it was a rocket and I can imagine the DSG being just as strong. Most people would be happy just to get their hands on an S4 yet some are dissapointed still.. to me the S4 will launch everytime with or without the feature, it just doesn't need it, is built in already!

2011 S4 DSG no drive select.
Push brake. turn off track. Drop into "S" from D. Floor it. Rev's shoot up to 3500-4k let off brake and your off.
Haven't tried it with the paddles. Imagine it works the same.
