it has just been in for a full de-coke and the injection manifold clean while there i had them fit a full milltek system and remap it.
since i have had it back the exhaust seems to be knocking quite abit i have had it in and they have had it on the ram and could not see any thing wrong but the knocking is still going on

Can you describe the knocking? Does it sound like something loose bumping around inside a muffler, or the system bumping the underside of the car, or a sound generated by the engine exhaust? Metallic sound? Dull thud/bump?

I have a 2012 S5 and have the same problem with my Milltek also. I have had it in the local Audi Service center that put it on for me and the best thing that we can come up with it this. I have noticed that it is much worst in when the car is cold or when I first start it up and drive. After the car has time to warm up the pipes below they expanded and are not allowed to move as much under the car. Therefor don't move back and forth against the frame.
I did a little test myself to see if this is true and it does seem to make some since. Try this before you go anywhere next time reach down at the tips and move them back and forth and you will hear that knocking sound. Then take a 10 to 15 min. drive and when you get out go do the same thing again. Guess what not as much play in the pipes and less knocking sound. They have swelled some and not able to move as much now...!
I know it's still not the fix for the problem but at least it is a place to start. Mine still knock in the morning time on the way to work but after the first mile or two it seems to quit.
Hope this helps you some,
Brian
